What about the TEKES?

The Alpha-Gamma chapter/colony has a long history at Washington State University, being founded in Pullman on December 29th, 1927. Unfortunately in the Spring of 2000, the chapter was shut down by the TKE International Offices of the Grand Chapter. The Chapter had lost sight of the TKE values and what it means to be gentlemen. Poor conduct and poor academic discipline killed the chapter. The chapter house was sold to another local chapter in need of a house.

In the Fall of 2003, an expansion team from the Offices of the Grand Chapter came to Pullman to start up a colony with a goal to re-charter as the Alpha-Gamma Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon. The team met with campus staff and other community leaders to gain insight on what is expected out of a fraternity at WSU. A small interest group was assembled but struggled early on and nearly collapsed. Over the next year, the group was reformed with assistance of some representatives from TKE.

As we embark on what looks to be a defining year for the colony, we have steadily grown from a struggling interest group to a strong values based colony looking to accomplish great things.

We have a housing fund in place that is under the control of TKE. We will use the fund to either buy an existing vacant chapter house or buy property on Greek row to build a new chapter house.
